After watching another friend painfully grieve over a family member's choice of suicide, I felt God calling me to paint and share my story. I realized that I could use the paintings to bring people together, creating a space where we can talk about our journey and our loved ones.
Every painting has a semicolon in the layout. Some are subtle, some are pronounced. Each painting has a special place in my heart and expresses a different layer of discovery and healing. A portion of the proceeds of the paintings are donated to charities supporting mental health and children.
All of the paintings are made with acrylic paints. Some are started with the acrylic pour technique.
I have so much fun pouring the paints and watching the beautiful cells that are created dynamically; or patiently allowing the paint to slowly blend and stretch as it travels across the canvas.
I like the freedom to discover what might be revealed in the paint (like Shine & Ripples), or work with it to create something that I have in mind (like Je suis aimé). The magic happens when I merge my ideas with the flow of the paint, working together as one. Of course, there are times when I know that I can take the painting further, or maybe it just needs 'something else'. It may happen on the first try, or it may take several tries to get it just right.
My mission is to help heal hearts through my art. I have dedicated my paintings to promote suicide awareness and inspire others to practice self love and find their true purpose.
I hope that by sharing my powerful healing journey of losing my mom to suicide, I can encourage others to take the same brave step.
Let's talk about it right here - right now! 💖
Every painting includes a carefully placed semicolon (or dozen) in the compasition; a symbol which represents the story isn't over.
I love the day that I created the semicolon footprint! This piece quickly became my favorite and I knew it had a special home.

The name Tia is from both my name and in honor of my Aunt, who was my angel, standing in the gap after my mom left. Tia is an abbreviation of my first and middle name and Tia means Aunt in spanish. Sometimes we are blessed with spiritual moms who help us along the way.
She poured into my heart her love of the arts, and I learned so much from her.
Also, I love the mantra 'Dance like no one is watching'. Dance with joy through everything you do in life, whether it is painting, dancing, parenting, working, persevering, or however you are connecting with the world sharing your gifts; as only you can do.
REMEMBER....
YOU ARE LOVED! YOU ARE THE ONLY YOU & IT IS TIME
TO LET YOUR SOUL SHINE!
THANK YOU FOR CONTINUING YOUR STORY WITH ME!
TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
